Preparations for Pagoda Festival : Meeting on holding Magway Mya Tha Lun pagoda festival

The 2,590th Buddha Pujaniya Festival of the historic Mya ThaLun Pagoda in Magway, Magway Region, will be held for more than 20 days. A coordination meeting on preparations for the successful holding of the Buddha Pujaniya Festival was held at the meeting hall of the Magway Region Government Office on the afternoon of September 26.

At the meeting, Patron of the Leading Committee for the Successful and Grand Celebration of the Festival, Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko said that the Festival will be held for 20 days, from the 10th waxing day of Thadingyut, 1388 ME, to the 14th waning day of Thadingyut, corresponding to October 21 to November 9, in accordance with traditional practice.

He said that the meeting was being held to ensure that the festival would be celebrated in a grand and successful manner as in previous years. He also called for close cooperation among the Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force, relevant departments and responsible officials to ensure the successful and orderly holding of the festival and to prevent any security-related issues from arising.

Next, Chairman of the Leading Committee, Magway District Administrator U Moe Zaw Soe explained the arrangements and work plans for holding the Buddha Pujaniya Festival successfully and in a grand manner. Officials from the respective subcommittees then presented their general discussions and reports.

In response, Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko, Patron of the Leading Committee, coordinated and addressed the necessary matters and delivered concluding remarks.

After the meeting, Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko, Region Government members and departmental officials proceeded to the festival grounds to inspect preparations for the successful and grand celebration of the Magway Mya Tha Lun Pagoda Festival, including arrangements for the successful holding of the hot-air balloon launching event.

They also inspected the progress of ongoing preparations and gave necessary instructions and guidance to the responsible officials.
