Preparation For Thingyan: Kachin State gears up for lively Thingyan Festival

In Myitkyina Township of Kachin State, efforts are underway to celebrate 1387 Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival in a grand and distinctive manner while preserving traditional customs with the accompaniment of Yein Dance Competitions at Central Pandal. 

Local authorities provide necessary assistance for smooth conduct of the festival by forming the Maha Traditional Thingyan Organizing Committee. Currently, the participant performance groups are under training at respective places, making strenuous efforts to stage lively performances. 

Yu Yu Kyi, Assistant Director, Kachin State Government Office said "We will be participating in the competition with two groups representing the Kachin State Government and the Kachin State General Administration Department. We will perform our own songs and lyrics, accompanied by a Myanmar traditional orchestra. I wish everyone a happy and delightful Thingyan, filled with peace of mind."

The Central Pandal traditional dance competition will be organized by the Yein Dance Competition Organizing Committee in three categories and the awards will be presented in a grand scale to deserving winners. 

Thin Thin Phyu, Clerk, Township Development Committee said "We will participate in the competition at Central Panda with one group. We will compete with our own song and lyrics and music. Every participant is trying their best to win the competition. "

This year Thingyan Festival will prioritize the Walking Thingyan, featuring traditional essence with the inclusion of Laphet and Htamane Thingyan.
