





Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a peace delegation led by Vice-Chair (1) of the Pa-O National Liberation Organization-PNLO at the BayintNaung villa in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday to discuss peace issues.
At the meeting, the Senior General clarified efforts for ending armed conflicts and ensuring peace in the Union in successive eras, situations that need to be solved with peaceful way although there will be discord and misunderstanding politically in marching towards multi-party democratic system and the demands of ethnic armed organizations during peace talks.
The Senior General also added that the discussion needs to be made with farsightedness for the interest of the Union as they will open discuss what is really needed and what should be done for the region and the country and also discussed matters on practicing multi-party democratic system in conformity with the people’s desire and building a Union based on democracy and federalism.
The PNLO Vice-Chair (1) and party expressed special thanks that they have a chance to participate in the peace talks and said that PNLO has always accepted to solve the problems with peaceful way and discussed consensus on building a union based on democracy and federalism and reported regional development.
They also exchanged views on peace issues and regional development. After the meeting, the Senior General presented commemorative gifts to the PNLO Vice-Chair (1) and party.
The PNLO Vice-Chair (1) also gave in turn the local gifts to the Senior General. The PNLO peace delegation will continue to hold peace talks with the Peace Talks Team and the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee formed with SAC members by the State Administration Council.
Also present at the meeting were Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Council members General MyaTunOo, Lt-Gen Moe MyintTun and Lt-Gen YarPyae.
The PNLO Vice-Chair was accompanied by Joint General Secretary-1 Khun Min Thein and Central Executive Committee member KhunZweHtoh.
