Paying Tribute: Laying wreath at the Memorial to the Fallen Heroes

In commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of Armed Forces Day, paying tribute and laying wreath ceremony took place at the Memorial to the Fallen Heroes in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

On behalf of the Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhama Min Aung Hlaing, Vice Chairman of the Commission Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Vice Senior General Thiri Pyan Chi Maha Thray Sithu Soe Win, attended the event. Together with the senior military officers, the Vice Senior General paid tribute and laid wreath to the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives during the national defence and security duties.

Then, the Vice Senior General and attendees toured around the Memorial to the Fallen Heroes. Established on March 27th, 2017, the Memorial to the Fallen Heroes (Nay Pyi Taw) aims to honor Myanmar's heroes who selflessly sacrificed their lives for the country's independence and sovereignty. It seeks to ensure that their heroic acts are remembered by future generations and to instill the union spirit and patriotic fervor among the youth. Inside the Memorial, the names of the heroes honored with the Aung San Thuriya, ThihaThura, and Thura Titles, as well as those who received badges, are inscribed on granite stones with gold lettering. Additionally, statues of five soldiers and a civilian who were conferred with the Aung San Thuriya Title are displayed outside the building.
