












A ceremonial parade to mark the transfer of the duties of Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was held in the morning of March 30 at the Zeyathiri Beikman Hall in Nay Pyi Taw.
First, the incumbent Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Mahathraysithu Soe Win and the incoming Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, who will assume the transferred duties, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Zeya Kyaw Htin Thray Sithu Kyaw Swer Lin, accompanied by two leading officers, arrived at the venue where the ceremony was to be held.
Subsequently, the incumbent Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, and the incoming Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, who will assume the transferred duties, took their places on the saluting dais and received a salute from the honor guard company.
While receiving the salute from the honor guard company, the honor artillery battery also fired a 17-gun salute as part of the ceremonial parade.
Afterwards, the incumbent Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Mahathraysithu Soe Win, inspected the honor guard company.
Following this, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Mahathraysithu Soe Win, delivered an address.
Subsequently, the Military Appointments General, Lt-Gen Zeya Kyaw Htin Htein Win, read out and presented the joint-appointment letter, confirming the joint-appointment of the Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Zeya Kyaw Htin Thray Sithu Kyaw Swer Lin as Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Commander in Chief (Army), of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
After that, the incumbent Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Tharay Sithu Soe Win, handed over the insignia sword and the flag of the Office of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services to the incoming Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Zayya Kyaw Htin Thray Sithu Kyaw Swer Lin, and presented him with the seal of command of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
Following this, General Zayya Kyaw Htin Thray Sithu Kyaw Swer Lin who assumed the duties of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, presented the ceremonial insignia sword back as a gesture of honor to the former Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Tharay Sithu Soe Win, who had handed over the duties.
Thereafter, the outgoing Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Tharay Sithu Soe Win, and the incoming Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, General Zayya Kyaw Htin Thray Sithu Kyaw Swer Lin, received a salute from the honor guard company, after which the honor guard company marched past in a column to render a salute before departing.
Afterwards, the outgoing Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Soe Win, and his wife, Daw Than Than Nwe, along with the incoming Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services who assumed the transferred duties, General Kyaw Swer Lin, and his wife, Dr. Nan Kuu Ku ဒေါက်တာ နန်းကူးကူ, greeted senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and their wives, as well as invited guests, who had attended the ceremony.
Following this, the outgoing Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Soe Win, and his wife, Daw Than Than Nwe, viewed the commemorative gifts presented as a mark of respect by various departments and offices under the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
Afterward, as the motorcade carrying the outgoing Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Vice-Senior General Thiri Pyanchi Maha Tharay Sithu Soe Win, and his wife, Daw Than Than Nwe, departed from the Zeyathiri Beikman Hall, a ceremonial guard band played and sang.
