








The opening ceremony for the Advanced Domestic Sewing Training Course No. (12), and the Hotel Service Training Course No. (12), was held on the morning of May 4 at the Vocational Training School for Women (Pathein), under the Department of Education and Training of the Ministry of Border Affairs. Ayeyarwady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw attended the event and delivered the opening address.
In his speech, the Chief Minister noted "The Advanced Domestic Sewing Training Course No. (12), and Hotel Service Training Course No. (12), opening today represent the first batch of the 2026-2027 fiscal year. For the Hotel Service course, trainees will undergo 12 weeks of theoretical lessons followed by 12 weeks of practical training in hotel zones. The Advanced Sewing Training course will consist of 18 weeks of theory and practice at the school, followed by 4 weeks of pre-employment training focused on industrial motor sewing machines, dressmaking, and handicrafts. All trainees are urged to follow the school regulations, stay until completion, and strive to become proficient in their respective subjects."
Following this, the Chief Minister presented honorary cash awards. The Chief Minister and officials then cordially greeted the trainees and inspected the educational teaching aids and materials on display.
Afterward, the Chief Minister attended a general meeting regarding traffic rules and road safety at Meeting Hall No. (1) of the Region Government Office.
During the meeting, attendees presented reports on plans for public awareness campaigns regarding traffic and road safety regulations. The systematic designation of parking areas and terminals for three-wheeled vehicles, including the enforcement of mandatory uniforms for drivers and measures to prevent traffic congestion.
In response, the Region Chief Minister engaged in supplemental discussions and coordinated the necessary requirements to ensure the successful implementation of these plans, it’s reported.
