Online Scam Operation : Efforts to eradicate online scam and gambling

‌The government is intensifying comprehensive measures to prevent the establishment and operation of online scam and gambling activities within the country in collaboration with both local forces and neighboring countries.

Furthermore, departmental joint forces across regions and states are conducting systematic inspections and enforcement activities to combat online scam and gambling operations, as well as to prevent illegal entry and residence of foreign nationals.

On 20th March, security forces conducting secuirty operation and clearance measuers near Kaung San Village in Lae Char လဲချား Township of Southern Shan State seized buildings, warehouses, starlink devices, computers, power stations and related equipment. 

Further investigations lead to the arrest of 49 Chinese nationals and 1 Vietnamese national who engaged in online gambling near the aforementioned village.  The detainees will be further processed in accordance with established procedures.
