The Mongolian government has announced plans to introduce a QR code-based information system aimed at preventing housing fraud and improving transparency in the construction sector.

Under the initiative, each building will be assigned a unique QR code beginning at the architectural design stage. The code will remain valid throughout the building’s lifecycle, until its eventual demolition, allowing the public to access essential information about the project, including its developer, contractor, and property owner. The proposed QR code system is expected to provide prospective homebuyers with greater access to verified construction project information, reducing opportunities for fraudulent real estate transactions.
