
The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, arranging continuous importation on public holidays.
From 1 August to 11 September, liquid oxygen, oxygen gas, oxygen gas tanks, storage containers, liquid oxygen distributors, empty oxygen cylinders, oxygen plants, hospital oxygen generators, oxygen refilling machines, oxygen concentrators for home use, test kits, PPE, gloves and the mask carried by 1,702 vehicles were allowed to be imported. In the same period, a total of 94 oxygen bowsers were allowed to be transported.
Among the 94 vehicles, 74 vehicles were transported to Yangon, six to Mandalay, three to Nay Pyi Taw, four to Mawlamyine, three to Bago, one each to Pyay and Thanbyuzayat.
Out of 147 oxygen plants: 78 oxygen plants to Yangon, 17 to Mandalay, six to Lashio, four to Bago, another four to Myitkyina, three to Kyauk Padaung, four to Mawlamyine, two to Monywa, two to Magway, another two to Pakkoku, two to Hpa-an, another two to Minbu and one each to Nay Pyi Taw, Myingyan, Taunggyi, Myitta, Moegaung, Thanbyuzayat, Kyauktaga, Wakhema, Dawei, Kungyangon, Sittway, Dedaye, Myinmu, Mudon, Pyay, Meiktila, Maubin, Myaungmya, Wyne Maw, Tachilek and Tantyang were successfully transported.
