A major Kurdish conference concluded Saturday in the northeastern city of Qamishli with the adoption of a joint political vision for resolving the Kurdish issue within a democratic, decentralized Syrian state.
The "Conference for Kurdish Unity in Rojava Kurdistan" brought together over 400 figures from Rojava, the Kurdish-majority region in northern and northeastern Syria, other Kurdish regions, and Syrian areas, along with political party and civil society representatives.
In a final statement, participants emphasized the need for a unified Kurdish approach to building a new Syria. The statement called for constitutional guarantees for Kurdish rights, respect for human rights conventions, and full participation of women in all institutions. The conference also decided to form a joint Kurdish delegation to engage in dialogue with the new Syrian administration and national forces to implement the adopted vision.
