Thailand's Cabinet approved on Wednesday an integrated "single-entry" fare system for Bangkok’s mass transit network. Set to launch on January 1, 2027, the scheme eliminates multiple entry fees, capping total costs between 17 and 45 baht per trip regardless of the number of transfers.

The Transport Ministry will establish a clearing-house system to manage fare revenue distribution among private and public rail operators. Additional subsidies and discounted fares are planned for vulnerable groups, including children, the elderly, and those requiring special assistance.
