








A knowledge-sharing seminar on anti-corruption, jointly organized by the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Central Bank of Myanmar, was held at the Central Bank’s Zambuthiri Hall Nay Pyi Taw on June 10.
A total of 260 staff members from the Central Bank’s Naypyitaw, Yangon, and Mandalay branches attended the session. The opening remarks were delivered by Daw Than Than Swe, Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, who urged attendees to share the knowledge and awareness they gained on anti-corruption with their communities and organizations, and to actively participate in anti-corruption efforts.
Following that, U Sit Aye, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, highlighted how corruption has evolved with advances in technology. He noted that corrupt individuals often attempt to disguise unlawfully obtained funds and assets by depositing them into banks or transferring them, as revealed through the commission’s investigations.
Hence, he emphasized that the banking sector plays a crucial role in combating corruption.Subsequently, officials from the Anti-Corruption Commission Office provided explanations on both the prevention of corruption and the legal frameworks surrounding anti-corruption efforts.
After that, under the leadership of Commission Member U Kyaw Soe Lin, discussions were held with Corruption Prevention Units (CPUs) from the Central Bank of Myanmar. They shared their field experiences, strengths, challenges, and evaluations related to anti-corruption initiatives.
