Meeting with the Staff: MOI UM met with the staff from PPD and NPE

Union Minister for Information U Htein Lin met the staff of the Printing and Publishing Department (PPD) and the News and Periodicals Enterprise (NPE) at Phoe Wazira Hall in Zeyarthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

At the meeting, the Union Minister stressed the need to promptly inform the public of the President’s policies, speeches and guidance, as well as activities of the legislative and judicial branches, and to report on the implementation of the new government within its first 100 days.

He urged staff to overcome challenges with unity, promote reading habits among rural youth and students, maintain equipment properly to prevent damage and take fire safety precautions during the summer. Deputy Minister U Ye Tint then gave brief reports on the activities of the PPD and NPE.

After the meeting, the Union Minister and Deputy Minister inspected the editorial offices and printing facilities of the Kyemon (The Mirror) and Myanma Alin newspapers. They also visited the Nay Pyi Taw Printing Factory, where they reviewed displays of national publications, government-issued books and school textbooks and observed operations in the editing, CTP, plate copying and printing sections, as well as staff housing.
