






A ceremony where Union Minister for Electricity and Energy, U Ko Ko Lwin, explained the department's responsibilities and future action plans to staff members was held on April 21, at the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Office No. (6) in Nay Pyi Taw.
The Union Minister stated that the electricity and energy sector is fundamental to national development and economic growth. He noted that the President has provided guidance to prioritize the promotion of the electricity and energy sectors, which are currently essential for the country.
He emphasized the need for rapid implementation of projects and stated that efforts will be made to accelerate the completion of power generation projects. Furthermore, he mentioned that technical measures will be taken to prevent electricity wastage and loss, and systematic plans will be implemented to effectively deter fraudulent activities.
Subsequently, the Director General of the Department of Electric Power Transmission and System Control explained the status of the 500KV power line construction, and the Chairman of the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation presented the measures being taken to reduce power loss. The Union Minister then coordinated and provided necessary instructions based on the presentations, it’s reported.
