North Korea held a big military parade in the capital Pyongyang on Thursday to celebrate a major conference of the ruling party. The parade featured developmental ballistic missiles designed to be launched from submarines and other military hardware. State media said Kim took center stage in the parade, after a conference where Kim vowed maximum efforts to boost his nuclear and missile program.

The agency said viewers roared while troops rolled out the country's most advanced strategic weapons. Photos released by state media showed trucks transporting missiles that appeared to be either newly developed submarine-launched ballistic missiles or modified versions of previously tested systems. North Korean state TV hasn't released footage of the event, and the South Korean and US militaries haven't yet provided assessments of the weapons displayed by the North.
