Viet Nam’s first digital technology industry law launched

Since the start of this year, the Law on the Digital Technology Industry had officially come into effect, making Vietnam the first country in the world to introduce a dedicated law governing the digital technology sector.

The law is designed to strengthen personal data rights, including: the right to be performed, the right to give consent and the right to correct or delete the data. The Viet Nam Internet Association Chairman said the law adopts a comprehensive approach, covering human resources, materials, infrastructure, finance, and market access.

By addressing the entire production process, it establishes a clear legal framework for the development of the digital technology industry.
