US Vice President Kamala Harris has received the second dose of her COVID-19 vaccine. Harris was given the shot on Tuesday at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by nurse, who is chief of the NIH's COVID-19 vaccine clinic. Both she and President Joe Biden got the vaccine live on television to help lessen public resistance to the vaccine and reassure Americans of its safety.
U. S. Vice President, Kamala Harris said "I want to thank everyone for all you're doing, so now to the vaccine, NIH, these scientists, these medical professionals doing the work of pursuing what is in the interest of the public health have been a big part of the vaccine that I just took. They through the research, through the dedication, created something that will save your life and the life of your family and the community. And so, I want to urge everyone to take the vaccine when it is your turn. It is really a pretty painless and it will save your life..."
Harris was joined by her husband and both NIH director Dr. Francis Collins and Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, were there to welcome her. Biden completed the two-dose routine a week before his swearing-in.
