Jordan’s King receives COVID-19 vaccine

Jordan's King Abdullah II received his COVID-19 vaccine at the Royal Medical Services Clinic at the Royal Hashemite Court on Thursday, according to a statement issued by the country's Royal Court. Crown Prince and Prince were also vaccinated at the clinic. Jordan began vaccinating its population against the virus on Wednesday starting with front-line workers and vulnerable groups.

About 3,000 people received the vaccine on Wednesday. Jordan received the first batch of China's Sinopharm vaccines on Saturday and also the first batch of Pfizer vaccines on Monday. More than 200-thousand people registered to receive the vaccine and the government has prepared 29 vaccination centers around the Kingdom. Jordan has reported more than 312,000 cases of the virus and 4,107 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
