International Youth Day: Shan State CM attended the Youth Forum

The Shan State Youth Affairs Committee held a youth forum to commemorate the 2025 International Youth Day. The event, aimed at nurturing a new generation of youth to be a primary driving force for the nation's development and to possess the five strengths of a balanced person, took place at 10 a.m. on August 5 at the Taunggyi University Convocation Hall in Taunggyi.

During the event, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung stated in his speech that youth are the country's strength. He emphasized that nurturing and refining them is crucial for the nation's development. He added that the purpose of today's forum is to educate the youth, who are the country's precious treasures, to ensure they do not harbor wrong thoughts or views, which is an extremely important task.

Next, U Soe Nyunt Shwe, Director of the Shan State Department of Information and Public Relations and a member of the Shan State Youth Affairs Committee, explained the purpose of holding the youth forum.

Following this, Daw Nan Thandar Oo, Deputy Director of the Shan State Department of Information and Public Relations, served as the forum's moderator. The speakers then introduced themselves individually before starting the discussion. They discussed the following topics of Youth and Traditional Customs by Daw Moe Moe Myint Aung, Assistant Lecturer, Department of Philosophy, Taunggyi University, Youth and Aesthetics by Daw Kyaw Wut Yee Hlaing, Tutor, Department of Philosophy, Taunggyi University, Youth and the Correct Use of Technology by U Khun Myo Myint Oo (Khun Nay Myo), Chairman, Shan State Young Entrepreneurs Association, Youth and Environmental Conservation by U La Min Than, Deputy Director, Shan State Department of Environmental Conservation and Youth and a Research Perspective by Daw Wai Wai Khaing, Demonstrator, Department of Physics, Taunggyi University.

The university students in attendance asked questions, which were answered and clarified by the respective speakers.

Subsequently, Dr. Aung Nay Myo, Pro-Rector of Taunggyi University, gave a speech of thanks. Chief Minister U Aung Aung then presented commemorative gifts to the moderator and the speakers, which were received by the officials. He also presented sports equipment to Taunggyi University, which was accepted by the Pro-Rector, Dr. Aung Nay Myo.

Finally, the Chief Minister and officials warmly greeted the attendees and viewed the exhibition of fiction and non-fiction books displayed by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
