Collective Blood Donation: Tanintharyi Region Police Force Commander’s Office organized

Tanintharyi Region Chief Minister U Zaw Naing Oo, accompanied by members of the Region Government and officials, inspected and encouraged blood donation and medical treatment activities Sunday morning as part of the observance of the 62nd Myanmar Police Force Day.

First, in commemoration of the 62nd Myanmar Police Force Day, which falls on 1 October, a blood donation was organized at No. (12) Defence Services General Hospital (100-bed) to provide the blood needed by the hospital. The donation was led by the Tanintharyi Region Police Force Commander’s Office, with police personnel from the region, districts and townships, as well as their family members, participating in the collective blood donation.

Region Chief Minister, Chief Justice of Region High Court, region ministers and officials inspected and encouraged the blood donors and presented them with nutritional supplements and fortified food.

Next, the Chief Minister visited innocent civilians and Tatmadaw personnel receiving medical treatment at No. (12) Defence Services General Hospital (100-bed) after sustaining injuries in shootings by terrorist insurgents called themselves as People Defense Forces. He inquired individually about their injuries, medical treatment provided and current conditions, offered words of encouragement, coordinated with relevant officials to provide necessary assistance, and presented cash assistance to them.

Afterwards, the Chief Minister visited Dawei General Hospital (300-bed) under the Region Department of Medical Services, where he inspected and encouraged a collective donation activity by police personnel and their family members in commemoration of the 62nd Myanmar Police Force Day. He presented nutritional supplements and fortified food to the personnel and personally greeted them.

It was reported that the collective blood donation campaign, led by the Tanintharyi Region Police Force Commander’s Office, was organized to ensure that blood would be readily available for transfusion when needed by patients receiving medical treatment at hospitals.
