Coordination Meeting: Meeting on production and distribution of cottonseed oil held

A coordination meeting on the production and distribution of high-quality refined edible oil from cottonseed crude oil in Mandalay Region was held Sunday morning at the meeting hall of the Mandalay Region Government Office, with Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung attending and delivering remarks.

At the meeting, the Chief Minister said that all relevant departments, experts and edible oil millers must work together to successfully implement the specific work processes and decisions to be formulated at the meeting for practical implementation. He added that the Mandalay Region Government was also providing necessary support and assistance.

Next, the FDA Deputy Director-General gave a presentation on the implementation of the cottonseed oil project, while the Director (Food) of FDA explained the findings concerning the project to produce, distribute and sell high-quality refined edible oil from cottonseed crude oil.

Afterwards, ministers of the Mandalay Region and other attendees discussed the operational status of edible oil mills in the region, the raw materials required for cottonseed oil production, and measures to provide the necessary machinery and technology. They also shared their experiences and difficulties encountered in the course of implementation.

The Chief Minister then coordinated and provided the necessary assistance and support based on the presentations, additional discussions and recommendations made at the meeting, it was reported.
