New Patron Group: Myanmar Engineering Council reformed for fourth term

The Myanmar Engineering Council has been reformed for its fourth term with a new seven-member Patron Group and 60 council members.

The new Patron Group comprises Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr Charlie Than, U Aye Myint, Dr Nyi Hla Nge, Dr Win Myint and U Han Sein.

The reformation was approved by the Union Government to enable the council to carry out its duties and future activities more efficiently and effectively. The 60 council members have also been approved and selected by the newly formed Patron Group. The council will next form its executive body.

The council is also expected to continue contributing to national reconstruction and development, including rehabilitation efforts following the Mandalay earthquake and the implementation of the Myanmar National Building Code 2025.
