







Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, members of entourage, the Chief Ministers of Mandalay Region and Sagaing Region, visited Sagaing and Mandalay on Tuesday to inspect and support ongoing rehabilitation efforts following the damage caused by the recent earthquakes.
The visit began at No. (1) Basic Education High School in Sagaing, where the Prime Minister met with the headmistress and responsible officials to discuss educational matters and addressed necessary needs. He inspected damaged school buildings requiring reconstruction, as well as temporary learning facilities under construction, giving guidance on further requirements based on the briefings provided by relevant officials.
He then visited classrooms to observe the learning conditions of students, offering encouragements. Following this, the Prime Minister and his wife, along with the members, visited the Rajamanisula Kaung-Hmu-Taw Pagoda, where they paid homage to the Buddha image by offering flowers, water, oil lamps, and fruits.
At the same site, they inspected damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake, observed debris removal operations, and reviewed ongoing restoration efforts. Based on reports from officials, he gave further instructions to address necessary issues.
The SAC Chairman also performed meritorious deeds at the Metta Pond on the northern side of the pagoda by feeding and releasing fish. Later, the Prime Minister received briefings from Lieutenant General Thet Pon and members of the Pagoda Board of Trustee.
After the presentations, he donated financial contributions for the restoration of the pagoda. Continuing the visit, the Prime Minister and officials arrived at Soon-U Ponnya Shin Pagoda, which was damaged by the earthquake. They inspected the cleared and cleaned-up areas and ongoing rehabilitation work.
They then proceeded to the Ayeyarwady Bridge (Yadanabon), where a responsible officer briefed them on the removal of damaged parts of the Sagaing (Inwa) Bridge spans No. 4 and 5 to reopen the waterway. The officer also reported on the damages to lateral bracings, bearings, and piers of the Yadanabon Bridge.
The Prime Minister gave further instructions based on the report. Following that, the Prime Minister and officials visited the Maha Myat Muni Buddha Image, where they offered flowers and water and paid homage. They also inspected the earthquake-related damages and received briefings from officials, issuing necessary guidance accordingly.
Subsequently, they visited the Maha Atulawaiyan (Ah-Tu-Ma-Shi) Monastery, where they paid homage to the Buddha images, including the Sula Muni statue, by offering flowers and water. They donated a collective financial offering to support the monastery’s upkeep.
Ater that, the Prime Minister signed the guest book at the Maha Atulawaiyan Monastery and inspected the preservation and maintenance of the Buddha images and the monastery to ensure their continued reverence and elegance, providing guidance on necessary actions.
