Industrial Development: Inspection Tour in Mon State

On 18 March, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than accompanied by concerned officials visited Ceramics Manufacturing Factory in Mawlamyine Township of Mon State.

The Union Minister heard reports on the brief of the factory, current work implementation and further tasks to be carried out.  Upon reports, the Union Minister encouraged to conduct training courses to preserve the manufacturing techniques of the factory and to secure market availability by doing market research. After providing necessary instructions on continuous maintenance measures to prevent damage to the factory’s fixed assets and equipment, calling tender to use factory’s port area and inviting EoI in line with the procedures, the Union Minister inspected the port area.

Upon arrival at No.4 Beverage Factory (Mawlamyine), the Union Minister heard reports on work implementation, stressed on environmental preservation and systematic production process, meeting set standards and inspected the factory. Subsequently, the Union Minister and party proceeded to State Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection and heard reports on work implementations, development activities and technological provision.

Upon reports, the Union Minister instructed on information transparency between entrepreneurs and directorate in establishing private enterprises as well as capacity enhancement of the staff. On Thursday, the Union Minister visited Min Ywar Rubber Farm, inspected the rubber plantation and rubber latex gathering process and gave instructions on systematic plantation and harvesting process to prevent wastage as well as fire safety measures.

At District Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection, the Union Minister met with the staff and stressed them to comply with existing rules and regulations and strict adherence to civil servant ethics and responsibilities and fulfilled necessities upon reports. Afterwards, the Union Minister visited Htoo Industrial Enterprise in Mawlamyine Industrial Zone, inspected the modern machinery utilization and manual rice planters production and coordinated requirements.
