Indians on Sunday lit candles and waved flashlights from their balconies to show solidarity amid the coronavirus lockdown. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also lit a lamp at his residence in the Indian capital New Delhi after turning the lights of his building off. This is the second time Modi has requested people to come out and show collective unity in the fight against coronavirus.

Last month, tens of thousands of Indians stepped out on to their balconies and courtyards with steel plates and spoons in hand and cheered for frontline workers. India has reported a total of 3,374 cases and 75 deaths so far.
