Illegal Trade: Illegal items, timber worth over 36 mln Kyats seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 31st of May and on the 1st and 2nd of June, illegal fuel, undocumented foodstuffs and illegal timber, fertilizers and air conditioners were seized at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint, in Kyaikmaraw Township and at the Kawkareik (Tadakyoe) Checkpoint.

In total, illegal items and timber worth over 36 million Kyats were seized on the 31st of May and on the 1st and 2nd of June. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
