Illegal Trade: Illegal edible oil, teak and timbers seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On the 27th and 28th of May, duty-free edible oil bottles without official documents, illegal teak and illegal timbers were seized at the Mayanchaung Permanent Checkpoint, at the Mandalay 16-mile checkpoint and in the Kyaukmasin  and Saiya reserve forest in Toungoo District.

In total, illegal edible oil, teak and timbers worth over 37 million Kyats were seized on the 27th and 28th of May. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
