Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) announced the establishment of the world's first "Turing AI Orchestra", whose members are virtually synthesized by artificial intelligence (AI).

Scientists hope to explore the collaborative art creation and performance form of human and machine. This particular chorus of the song "Pearl of the Orient" is very different from previous performances. The live accompaniment is a real live band, but the singers are more than 300 virtual vocals. HKBU research team collected vocal singing samples online and offline, and developed a vocal generation model by analyzing the most relevant factors. Eventually, a quartet was created. This project was supported by a total of HK$52.84 million from the Hong Kong Research Grants Council.
