







The international rescue teams are providing assistance in an effort for rescue and relief measures in quake-hit areas following the powerful earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28.
On April 3rd, 18 medical personnel from Royal Thai Armed Forces Medical Team provided medical treatment to earthquake-hit victims in Myauk Myike village-tract, Tatkone Township, within Nay Pyi Taw Council area.
Doctor, Thailand Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) said "Our team is made up of 18 members: 3 doctors, 6 nurses and 9 support staff. Preparing everything within just 72 hours after the quake was a real challenge, with intense time pressure. But once we arrived and began helping, the whole team felt focused and deeply motivated. We’re truly grateful to be here and contribute to the response for those affected. We feel deep sorrow for the loss of lives and destruction of property. To everyone impacted, please stay strong! Keep fighting. We stand ready to help in times of emergency."
The March 28 earthquake caused severe damage in Myauk Myike Village-tract, where 51 of approximately 1,300 households sustained various levels of destruction, resulting in one confirmed fatality.
Village Administrator, Myauk Myike Village, Nyi Aung said "There were 4 injuries and one death in our village. It's been really difficult for us, especially since we had to quickly seek medical treatment in other areas. We are really thankful to the Thai Medical Team for coming to help us during this time."
Resident, Khin Win Yi said "When the earthquake struck, we didn’t have time to get to the hospital. We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their quick response and the care they provided. They treated my blurred vision and eye injury, gave me medical instructions, and provided eye drops. I’m so thankful for their help."
52 members of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Medical Team, including rescue personnel rapidly deployed to the earthquake-affected areas and are providing critical care to the victims.
