







The victory flag-handover ceremony for the Myanmar sports contingent, which will compete in the 33rd Southeast Asian Games to be held in Thailand, was held at the Wunna Theikdi Sports Stadium (A) in Nay Pyi Taw on November 19.
The Acting President, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony, delivered a speech and handed over the victory flag. First, the members of the Myanmar sports contingent who will participate in the 33rd SEA Games introduced themselves team by team.
Then, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman delivered a speech. The Acting President stated that there are only a few days left before the opening of the 33rd SEA Games, which will be held in Thailand from December 9 to 20, 2025.
He expressed his belief that all the athletes who will participate in the games are fully prepared in all aspects, including physical, mental, and sporting skills. He stated that all the people across the nation have witnessed the athletes training intensely with perseverance, diligence, and utmost effort, and are eagerly supporting them for success.
He emphasized his desire for the Myanmar sports contingent participating in this 33rd SEA Games to strive to win more medals than in previous editions. By doing so, they would not only advance and record the successful history of Myanmar sports but also enhance the prestige of the nation.
He noted that winning in every competition is related to the dignity of the motherland Myanmar and all its citizens, and must be recognized by all members of the Myanmar sports team as a national duty resting on their shoulders. He expressed his intention to duly honour the sporting successes that will emerge from the games.
On behalf of the state, he also expressed gratitude to all, including the sports federations of Myanmar, who have assisted in various ways to enable participation in the 33rd SEA Games. Following this, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman handed over the flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, as the victory flag for the 33rd SEA Games.
Subsequently, the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs explained the preparatory measures taken by the Myanmar sports contingent for the 33rd SEA Games. Afterwards, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman met with and encouraged the sports teams that will compete in the 33rd SEA Games. He then inspected the equipment for each sport event, viewing exhibition booths one by one, and provided necessary guidance and instructions
