



To help reduce flooding and waterlogging in Zeyathiri Township of the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, a total of 10 drainage canal excavation projects were completed before the onset of the rainy season.
On the afternoon of July 12, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw, accompanied by responsible officials, conducted a field inspection of the water flow conditions in the drainage canals, which have a combined length of 75,100 feet, to assess their drainage performance.
To prevent flooding in Zeyathiri Township, the Department of Irrigation and Water Utilization Management has completed 10 drainage canal excavation projects, 3 connected projects, and 3 Naraban Creek dredging projects, making a total of 16 projects with a combined length of 107,550 feet. These works were carried out to help mitigate flooding and inundation during the rainy season, it’s reported.
