The Supervisory Committee on Import, Storage, and Distribution of Fuel Oil has proactively stockpiled fuel at Thilawa Port, securing supplies through the end of the second week of August to ensure fuel security and prevent shortages.
Continuous entry of fuel tankers is being managed effectively, and the public is urged to remain calm despite misleading reports of fuel shortages circulating on social media. To mitigate the impact of misinformation, the committee advises consumers to purchase only the fuel they need and refrain from hoarding or reselling at inflated prices. Petrol stations are being monitored to ensure they remain operational and continue serving vehicles without interruption.
Due to ongoing rainfall and flooding in some regions, there may be occasional delays in fuel import and distribution. Nevertheless, the committee is maintaining daily distribution to over 3,000 petrol stations nationwide.
Additionally, an urgent and special program is in place to distribute over 3 million tons of fuel as needed. Consumers can access fuel at numerous stations across the country without the need for extensive queuing.
Specifically, there are 100 stations in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, 146 in the Yangon City Development Committee area, and 163 in the Mandalay City Development Committee area.
