Final Rites: Arrangements underway for the Late Naga Hna Kaung Sayadaw

Arrangements are underway for the final rites of the late Naga Hna Kaung Sayadaw.

On 9th March, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, together with ministers and officials, inspected the work progress being carried out at Hsay Kham Ward in Tachileik District of Shan State (East).

After hearing reports on the preparation measures, the Chief Minister and party inspected the designated place for the funeral pyre and gave instructions for necessities. Naga Hna Kaung Sayadaw was born in 1290 Myanmar Era at Yan Kein Village in Kengtung of Shan State (East).

The Sayadaw attained novicehood in 1299 and monkhood in 1310. Throughout his life, the Sayadaw provided many contributions to religion and society, achieving numerous religious titles conferred by the government as well as from Thailand. The Sayadaw passed away at the age of 96, with 77 years of monkhood.
