Textile Industry: Union Minister for Industry inspects factory and mill

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited No. 1 Textile Factory (Shwedaung) in Bago Region and inspected processes of cotton weaving and dying as well as machines and warehouses.

After the inspection, the Union Minister stressed the importance of fire safety. In the meeting with the factory officials and staff, the Union Minister heard report on works undertaken in the 2023-2024 fiscal year and plans for this fiscal year.

In his response, the Union Minister called for efforts to accelerate production in order to reduce import from abroad, to produce quality products and to collectively solve the challenges that will be encountered in order to make the factory successful and coordinated the matters presented.

The Union Minister also inspected the Cotton Mill (Taungdwingyi) and stressed preparations to fully operate the Mill, to purchase and complete the necessary spare parts and no load test once a week.
