Fight Against Disinformation: Seminar on “Nation Building and the Role of Media”

A seminar on "Nation Building and the Role of Media" took place at the Naypyitaw State Academy on Friday morning, attended by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn.

The event began with the screening of a video clip addressing the crucial topic of nation-building and the media's role in the process. During the seminar, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn expressed concerns about the negative impact of unscrupulous individuals disseminating fake news, leading to misunderstandings among the public.

He emphasized the Ministry of Information's commitment to combatting disinformation and ensuring the flow of accurate news to the public. The Union Minister highlighted the importance of utilizing the media for the benefit of the community and urged attendees to become responsible citizens capable of distinguishing between reliable and misleading information.

Additionally, he called for collective efforts to oppose terrorist acts, emphasizing their detrimental impact on the state's development. Following the seminar, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn presented books and periodicals published by the Sarpay Beikman.
