Encouraging Cooperative Sector: MCRD Union Minister’s inspection tour in Mon State

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe met with 40 staff from Mon State and Kayin State Cooperative departments who are attending the basic accounting and statistic course at Cooperative Accounting Vocational Training school in Mawlamyine on 19th March.

The Union Minister provided cash asstistance and coordinated the staff's need. He also inspected the new 3-storey classroom building which was built with the allocated fund by the Mon State Government. Then, the Union Minister met with staff from 4 departments under the Ministry at the State Rural Road Development Department in Mawlamyine.

Next, the Union Minister looked into 90 tonned- rice mill and 120-tonned rice dryer of Shwe Myaing Agriculture and general business cooperative association limited which is implemented by the cooperation of Aung Thazin Cooperatives Association and Mon State Cooperative Organization.

Officials made clarifications regarding the work undertakings. Upon the clarifications, the Union Minister stated that the government is prioritizing the development of cooperative cultivation and breeding businesses and providing project support for receiving interest, higher yield and inputs. He also urged the associations to work in unison.
