Emergency Surgery Performed: Acting President underwent an emergency surgery

The Information Team of the Office of the National Defense and Security Council released a press statement stating that the Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, had been suffering from lumbar spondylosis with spinal stenosis.

Therefore, on March 20, 2026, he underwent an emergency two-hour surgery performed jointly by specialists from India and the Myanmar Military Medical Corps at No. (2) Military Hospital (1000-bed) in Naypyidaw. The surgery was successful, and the Acting President, SSPC Chairman, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services is now healthily carrying out the State and military duties.
