Electricity Distribution: Union Minister makes inspections in Mandalay

Union Minister for the Ministry of Electric Power and Ministry of Energy U Thaung Han on Saturday inspected the Yeywa hydropower station and power distribution system of Mandalay Electricity Supply Corporation.

During the inspection tour, the Union minister said the Yeywa hydropower station is the biggest and most reliable dam in the country. It is necessary to ensure successive power generation by using the water effectively.

Regular maintenance also should be undertaken for the strength of power stations and power generators. On the same day, the Union Minister attended a coordination meeting with the district-level electric managers/engineers of Mandalay Region on Saturday.

In this meeting, the Union Minister stressed that the main goal of the ministry is to generate and distribute electricity to the people promptly with minimal loss of power and full voltage. All should cooperate to supply electricity to the people in full without reducing the load.

The district/township electric managers, engineers and finance officials should supervise collecting electricity payments and deploy security in reading meter units and sending meter bills, the Union Minister added.
