Development Projects : President inspects development works in Nay Pyi Taw

President U Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Vice President U Nyo Saw and Union Ministers, made inspection on development progress of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory on October 3rd.

During the visit in Nay Pyi Taw People's Square, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and the Union Minister for Construction made clarification on construction of People's Square as standardized public recreation area, plans to build sculptures of notable persons and marble carvings around the people’s square, rest areas, concert area and shop houses as well as construction of clock tower.

The President stressed the needs to all round development of construction works with advanced structures to meet the modern standards and set schedule along with the systematic maintenance after completion.  The President later inspected the construction works in the people’s square.

The President made inspection on the construction sites of Nay Pyi Taw-Taung Twin Gyi railway overpass and Yangon-Mandalay railway overpass on Shwe Pyi Taw Win Road. At the briefing hall, the President stressed to draft master plan on continuous upgrading of roads and bridges with earthquake-resistant structures under the strict supervision of the related officials.

After giving necessary instructions, the President toured around the construction sites, shady tree plantation, and road upgrading  works along the Shwe Pyi Taw Win Road. The President also inspected the construction of the new entrance road to Nay Pyi Taw Airport, Wetkamu  and Yone Pin Chaung  bridges and gave necessary instructions on the reports by the officials.

On arrival at the Naypyitaw Gate construction site, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and the Union Minister for Construction made clarification on construction of the gate with traditional architectural designs in innovative standard, and timely completion of landscaping and related works.

As the gateway serves as a prominent landmark for a city, the President emphasized to construct the facility with high standard structure incorporating traditional Myanmar architectural elements, ensuring to meet earthquake-resistance specifications.

He also called for the systematic construction of bypass roads to prevent traffic disruptions during the building process and also gave further instructions where necessity. The President later proceeded to the construction site of Union Honorary Beikman, heard reports by the officials and gave necessary instructions.

The Union Honorary Beikman is under construction in Nay Pyi Taw to honor the union national races who contributed to the building of a nation and those sacrificed for perpetuation of the Union.
