Daily imports: Imports of anti-COVID-19 equipment, medical products continue

The Ministry of Commerce is making efforts to ensure people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen cylinders, arranging continuous importation on public holidays.

On 19th September, 800 empty oxygen cylinders, 4 oxygen plants, 412 oxygen concentrators for home use, 2800 PPE suits, and 17 tonnes of masks were imported via Muse, Chinshwehaw, Kampaiti, Myawady, and Yangon International Airport were imported by 10 companies and transported by 12 vehicles.

Officials from the relevant departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including online registration for the import process during the long public holidays.

It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, facilitating the importation of essential medical supplies required in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19, as well as contact persons for inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website — www.commerce.gov.mm.
