COVID-19 "warning" signs have been posted in some areas of Los Angeles considered a high-risk for the virus, according to local media reports. The signs, in multiple languages, are located in areas that have seen high rates of coronavirus, according to a report from KABC-TV.
The "warning" signs were created by staff from the office of Los Angeles city councilmember, the report said. The signs also offer information about free COVID-19 testing and the vaccines available, according to the report. The effort comes as California officials struggle to meet the challenge of vaccinating all those awaiting the shot, including millions of people 65 and older who recently were made eligible behind health care workers and people in nursing care homes.
Large counties have been opening up more mass vaccination sites as they struggle with an unprecedented demand. Officials are pinning hopes on President Joe Biden's promise to ramp up vaccination resources.
