COVID-19 Update: 3 new COVID-19 cases reported on May 22

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 3 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Sunday after testing 6,064 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 12 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 613,222 with 19,434 deaths and 592,186 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention.
