COVID-19 Update: 17 new COVID-19 cases reported on May 29

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 17 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Sunday after testing 6,651patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 7 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 613,315 with 19,434 deaths and 592,271 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

COVID-19 vaccine is being injected to those of priority groups in regions and states for prevention and control of the disease. Up to 28th May, 2022, over 31 million people have been vaccinated. Of them, over 26.49 million people have been vaccinated two times and over 4.92 million people once and over 2.07 million people have received booster dose. Therefore, over 59.98 million doses of COVID-19 jabs have been vaccinated, according to the press release of Ministry of Health.
