





Bago Region Government held a coordination meeting on agriculture, livestock, education and healthcare sectors. In this meeting at the regional government’s office, Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win said that in the Region, it is necessary to cultivate three crops a year in areas where irrigation water and other sources provide irrigation water.
Arrangements are being made for the correct planting time and planting of crops and access to irrigation water. It is necessary to cultivate salt-tolerant rice varieties in saline areas and distribute drought-tolerant varieties in areas with low rainfall.
Regarding the livestock sector, to develop the socio-economic life of the rural people, local poultry farming must be further educated. For the education and healthcare sectors, efforts are being made to fully re-open schools, and students and out-of-school children between the ages of 5 and 12 will be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease.
He called on attendees to fulfill requirements of the public. The meeting continued with discussions on the implementation of five-year monsoon paddy and summer paddy project and plans for the acceleration of summer paddy cultivation. The agriculture, livestock, education and healthcare plans for the Region and cooperative matters were also discussed.
