


The Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry Of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement has opened the Chinese food cooking class at the Vocational Training School in Yangon starting from 13th June.
Vocational Training School (Yangon) is providing the cooking lessons for those who want to cook Chinese food. This is the second course in this year.
Ye Htut, Trainer, Vocational Training School (Yangon) said “There are 7 trainees attending the course. We’d like to invite people to attend the course because of their health, hygiene food and capacity for their lives. Our training period is one and half months. Currently, we have taught Chinese dishes such as Kung Pao Chicken, fried vegetables, corn soup, and spicy sour stir fried pork. Now, we are going to learn how to cook Tom yum Soup with seafood.”
According to the trainer, the course fee is about 15,000 kyats and the raw materials have to be bought by the trainees themselves. The class trains the trainees to become proficient.
MohMoh Han, Trainee (Mingaladon) said “I am attending to this class since 13th June. Because of this class, I know how to cook clean and healthy food at home. This class is beneficial for young people.”
Ye Min, Trainee, ShwePaukkan said “I think that young people should take a course as their hobby. I heard about this course through one of my friend and I came to this. I am thinking of applying for a job with the course certificate.”
Department of Social Welfare opens 10 Vocational Training Schools nationwide and is offering 8 courses per year.
