A coastal city in northeastern China's Liaoning province conducted mass virus testing and imposed traffic restrictions on Sunday following an outbreak of COVID-19. The city of Huludao, 430 kilometres away from Beijing, has found 43 locally transferred COVID-19 cases among its 2.75 million residents in the past week.

People are not allowed to leave the city without a negative COVID-19 test result within 24 hours. China is applying a "zero-tolerance" approach to the pandemic. The Chinese mainland reported 67 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, comprising 28 locally transmitted cases and 39 imported cases.
