The transitioning processes are being undertaken to the state-owned factories around the world. No. 31 heavy cement factory (Thayet) at the Thayet Township of Magwe Region is working to ensure for long-term viability of the industry as it has a great and long history.

And also, the training courses will be conducted for the employees from factory to acquire the cement’s modern-production techniques and to get production methods.

This cement factory was established since 1935 and had produced 1,100 tons of cement with lime soaking technology. 123.87 units of electricity are consumed for 1 ton of cement production by wet method and producing 1 ton of cement by dry method used about 90 units of electricity.

Due to higher costs of cement production by wet method, plans are being undertaken to change production methods with the cooperation with private investors.
