Cash Aid: SWRR Ministry Provides Cash For The Elderly

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine on Tuesday visited the Sin Shweli Home for the Aged in Lashio of Shan State. During the visit, the Union Minister handed over the cash aid provided by the Ministry and well-wishers for the elderly.

Chairman of the Home for the Aged accepted the cash aid and presented certificates of honour. There, the Union Minister also met with the elderly. On the same day, the Union Minister visited the Thiri Mingalar ManSuShan Monastery, paid respects to members of the Sangha and donated offertories.

She also offered alms-food to the members of the Sangha at the Monastery, visited the museum of the life story of the Lord Buddha, and donated cash for alms-food. On Wednesday, the Union Minister attended a workshop on social pension provision in Nay Pyi Taw and delivered a speech. Deputy Minister U Aung Tun Khaing explained the social pension programme. The workshop is set to be held on the 25th, 27th and 30th of May and on the 1st of June and will be attended by 100 attendees.
