Bilateral cooperation: MoTC Union Minister arrived back from Russian Federation

Myanmar delegation led by member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San who attended 16th International Forum and Transport Week 2022 held in Moscow from 15th to 18th November, at the invitation of the Minister for Tranportation of Russian Federation Mr. Vitaly Savelievarrived back at Yangon Internatinal Airported in the evening on 19th November and was welcome by the Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Commander of Yangon Command Ma-J Gen. Nyut Win Swe and officials from the ministry.

The union minister and members during in Moscow attended the seminar on examination of the production quality of locomotive, coaches and accessories, seminar on utilization of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in urban transportation and the Signing ceremony of MoU between Myanmar and Aviatio Authority of Russian Federation to fly the flights of Yangon- Vladivostok, Yangon- Novosibirsk and Yangon- Krasnoyarsk.

Next, the union minister held talk with the deputy minister of transportation of Russian Federation Mr. Igor Petrovich Chalik. on 17th November, the unionminister attended the International Transport Cooperation in 2022 and viewedthe exhibition booths displayed in Transport Week.During the meeting of the transportation ministers of both countries, the two parties exchanged views on the providing assistance for the development of transportation sector in Myanmar, the coordination processes are being carried out on the proposal of Myanmar Airways International (MAI) to operate aviation between the two counries and the bilateral cooperation for the development of railway sector inMyanmar.

The union minister took part in the plenary session of International Cooperation in Transportation.The Transport Week held from 15th to 18th November, was attended about 1400 participants including 160 representatives from 36 countries, officials and experts from Russian Federation, observers from enterprises and organizations. The acceleration of cooperation between Myanmar and Russian in the transportation sector ncluding road, water and aviation sectors, it’s learnt.
