Ezhou Huahu Airport, the first professional cargo hub airport in Asia and the fourth in the world was put into operation in central China’s Hubei Province on July 17.

Close to the Yangtze River, the Airport is less than 20 kilometers away from the centers of three prefecture-level cities and about 80 kilometers from the downtown area of the city of Wuhan.

It was built with a total investment of about 4.565 billion US dollars.  It is estimated that by 2025, the new airport will have an annual throughput of one million passengers and 2.45 million tons of cargo and mail.

The circle will cover 90 percent of the country’s total economic output and five national-level city clusters. The cargoes will be delivered to their destinations within one day in China and overnight around the world.
